I distinctly remember, just after we came home from the hospital, looking down at the tiny baby in my arms and thinking that six months was an eternity away, and things would be so different. Dean and I would be confident and accomplished parents, everything that now felt hard would be easy, and life would be magical and full of joy. Luckily I was at least right about the last one ๐ซ๐๐.
Oscar is all about others at the moment. He loves to smile and giggle at mum, dad, other babies, and total strangers waiting at the checkout ๐. He loves funny noises, getting little frights, and watching his parents dance badly to 80s music ๐๐บ๐ป. Teething has recently ramped up (but still no teeth! ๐ฅ), and heโs been getting extra cuddles to get him through ๐. Oscar is finally an accomplished rolling baby, and thoroughly enjoys flipping over at every opportunity. Heโs still scooting, but only backwards ๐ , and making great progress on sitting, with only the occasional topple! This month Oscar has explored lots of different foods ๐๐๐ฅฆ๐ง๐ฅ๐๐ฅ๐ ๐ฅ, tackled his very first flight โ๏ธ, and is about to enjoy a week in the wild north of Australia ๐โ๏ธ๐ด. What an awesome month!

Parenting is a hard gig, but with every month that passes I am more and more grateful to be Oscarโs mum. Being with him, soaking up his joy and excitement, and seeing the world through his eyes is my honour and privilege ๐. More of his little personality is constantly revealed, and while a sleep-in wouldnโt go amiss, I love waking up each morning to his happy, smiling face ready to seize a new day ๐. Half a year has gone like a flash, but weโre working hard at making each moment count! And seven months, come at us, we canโt wait for what comes next! ๐
Happy half birthday golden boy ๐ฆ๐ผโจ๐ซ
