Well here we are already. Oscar is a one year old and this little photo project has come to an end after 12 months of watching this little boy grow up in front of my lens 📸
Life with a new one-year-old is pretty exciting, if I do say so myself. Oscar is all about speed at the moment 💨, so even though he isn’t walking independently he is running about on his walker screeching like a madman 📢(sorry neighbours). He knows how to change direction 🔄, and he’s also figured out turning on the balance bike as well as how to independently get on and off (although sometimes he needs a helping hand). He takes the stairs at a run 🏃♂️ and he loves to be chased as we play his favourite game of “I’m Gonna Getcha”😂. Oscar is a very cuddly baby, and now he knows how to wrap his arms around people’s necks when he hugs them, which is the cutest thing 🥰. He has very strong ideas about what he wants, and he isn’t afraid to tell those around him what he thinks (even though we don’t always understand him 🤷🏼♀️ ). Language has taken a leap forward 🗯, with Oscar now able to say not only “mum” and “dad” but also “yes”, “yum” and “up”. He’s still a two-tooth baby and he’s pretty sure sleep is for the weak, but as his parents we would not have him any other way.
Oscar has become so much more driven towards independence in the last month His energetic and affectionate personality, cheeky playfulness, and strong voice make it easy for me to visualise what toddler-dom will look like for us. I think we’re in for a bit of a ride, but at least there will be lots of cuddles.
So happy birthday firecracker boy 💥. The last 12 months have been a blast and we are only just getting started ❤️
Seeing as Oscar’s first year is official over, I thought I’d put up all of my shots from his monthly photo project. It amazes me to see how much he has grown and changed over the past year! What a ride it has been.
